Google web fonts double rendering on iPad
Submitted by webadmin on Tue, 08/11/2011 - 22:45
An interesting problem popped up in a recent project, where a site title, using google webfonts, was looking great in all browsers except iOS (iPad and iPhone). In iOS, the text appeared to be "doubled up". The answer was found here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5069752/ios-4-2-webfont-ttf-s-bold-fo... Apparently there is a CSS rendering bug in iOS Safari browser, that does not like the font-weight style applied to an element, when that element is inside another font-weight styled element. Restoring font-weight to normal, solved the issue.
